Love, Laughter and Connection: Celebrating Valentine’s Day at Leigh Place

Valentine’s Day is often associated with romance, but at its heart, it is really about connection; and that is something we treasure deeply at Leigh Place!

For residents, Valentine’s Day celebrations include beautifully decorated shared spaces, activities, and plenty of opportunities to connect with friends, partners, staff, and loved ones. It is a day about celebrating friendship, companionship and the simple joy of being together. The day reminds us that love comes in many forms.

For some members of our community, Valentine’s Day is also a time to quietly honour loved ones who are no longer with us. We recognise that love does not end when someone passes, it lives on in memories, stories and the deep bonds that shape who we are.  We therefore hold space for reflection as well as celebration, respecting every person’s experience of love in their own way.

Importantly, Valentine’s Day also provides the chance to acknowledge the caring relationships that exist throughout our home; between residents, families, and our dedicated staff.

Valentine’s Day is a lovely reminder of how powerful connection can be, at any age.
