The Final Report by the Aged Care Taskforce has now been released. It contains 23 recommendations for the Australian Government to consider.
The Taskforce, established in June 2023, had a remit to provide expert advice to government about:
- Aged care funding arrangements;
- Options for a system that is fair and equitable; and
- Ways to build on the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.
The 23 recommendations included in the report aim to build an aged care system that is financially sustainable, as well as one that enables older people to live well as they age.
