Celebrating Aged Care Employee Day 2026

Aged Care Employee Day, celebrated annually on 7 August, is opportunity to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary people who make a difference every day in the lives of older Australians. From care workers, nurses, allied health professionals and support staff to volunteers, family members and community partners, this day honours the compassion, commitment and dedication that underpin quality aged care.

Across Leigh Place, we see countless examples of kindness, respect and person-centred care. Whether it is supporting independence, creating meaningful connections, or providing comfort and reassurance, aged care professionals play an essential role in helping older people live with dignity and purpose.

This year’s Aged Care Day is also a time to reflect on the importance of building inclusive, safe and welcoming environments where every resident and stakeholder feels valued, heard and respected. It reminds us that quality aged care is about more than services; it is about relationships, belonging and community.

We extend our sincere thanks to all staff, volunteers and supporters whose dedication enriches the lives of older people every day.

Your commitment, professionalism and compassion make a lasting difference.

As we celebrate Aged Care Day 2026, let us continue to champion excellence, uphold dignity and work together to create positive experiences for every older person in our care.

Happy Aged Care Employee Day 2026!
