Spotlight on Workforce Development: Growing Together at Leigh Place

At Leigh Place, we know that the heart of great care is our people. That is why we make it a priority to support our team and open doors for the next generation of aged care professionals. By working closely with local universities and colleges, we are able to provide student placements and ongoing learning opportunities that benefit both our residents and our staff.

Onsite Learning

Our student placement program gives nursing, allied health, and social work students the chance to experience the aged care sector firsthand. With guidance from our experienced staff, they are able to apply what they have learned in the classroom, while spending meaningful time with our residents.

For many, it is more than just a placement – it is the beginning of a rich and rewarding career. Some of our current team members commenced as student placements. We value seeing them grow into confident, skilled aged care professionals.

Ongoing commitment to Learning and Development

We also believe that learning never stops. Our team takes part in regular training, specialised courses, and leadership development opportunities, ensuring that they have the right skills and confidence to meet residents’ changing needs. By investing in our people, we are also investing in the quality of care and service that we provide every day.

Working Together

Our partnerships with universities do not stop at student placements. We also take part in research and projects that help us to remain abreast of new ideas, innovations and approaches in aged care. This collaboration supports continuous improvements in resident care, guided by both experience and innovation.

At Leigh Place, workforce development is not just about jobs or training. It is about creating opportunities, building confidence, and ensuring that our residents always receive the best possible care.

We are proud to be part of that journey, alongside our staff, students, and academic partners.
