From 1 November 2025, a new Aged Care Act will come into effect across Australia. This is an important change in the way aged care is delivered, and it is designed to strengthen rights, protections, and the quality of care for all older Australians.
What is Changing?
The new Act is designed to:
- Strengthen your rights – giving you even more choice, dignity, and respect in your daily life.
- Lift the quality of care – ensuring all providers consistently meet higher standards across the country.
- Provide more support and reassurance – with clearer ways to raise concerns and be heard.
These changes are all about making sure that every person receiving aged care in Australia feels safe, valued, and supported.
